Happy Wednesday!

Hi Parents

Wow! Today was a busy day, filled with making clay pots, Indian necklaces, and Pilgrim hats. We have enjoyed talking about Thanksgiving and its history.

Sorry about this late post but this week along with talking about Thanksgiving, we are working on the letter Ii and the sight word to. In Math we are working on the number 10 and number order.

A few reminders:

I try and send a book order every month. I didn't want to interfere with the Book Fair last month so we are starting this month. Tomorrow is the last day to turn in book orders or order online.

Afternoon will have library tomorrow (Thurs) because Friday is our Early Early Out Friday. Morning 9:00-10:45 Afternoon 11:30-1:15. The morning class will still have library on Friday.

If you haven't sent back your Grandparent/Special friend slip, please send it by Friday so I know how many to plan for. The children are excited and have practicing a lot.

Finally on Monday we are having a "Kindergarten Feast." We will dress up as pilgrims or Indian (their choice) and have a feast. Thanksgiving is a sharing time and so if your child would like to bring 23 pieces of something for our Thanksgiving feast they can. For example; goldfish, raisins, olives, cheese slice, crackers, apples slices, etc. This is entirely up to you and is optional It should be a fun day though.

Phew! I think that about does it for this week. I just want to thank you for your patience with me and your support. I hope you know how much I enjoy having your child in my class. If you have questions or concerns please let me know. Thank you for sharing your precious jewels with me!

November 7-11

This week is uneventful, which is nice. We will be wrapping up our fall unit and we will move on to talking about Thanksgiving next week. Just a few reminders to make sure your child dresses appropriately and has a coat. We try and go outside often and it doesn't take much to get sick.

Also I am sending home a note today, but I am looking for medium sized pine cones for a project we are going to do. I am looking for the hard kind that are open. If you have any or know where I can find some please let me know. Thanks again for the paper towel and toilet paper rolls.

Oct 31st -Nov 4

First off today, we had our Halloween Parties and they were a great success. The kids had a lot of fun! Thanks to all those parents who helped put it together.

This week as we are starting a new month, we will be making another calendar. Please find a place to hang it, as it has important dates. One important date for Nov is the 22nd. This is the day before Thanksgiving Break. It will be Grandparents/Special Friend Day. If your child has Grandparents around we would love for them to come. If your child is unable to bring a Grandparent they can bring you or an uncle, aunt, etc. We will have a short program, make a craft, and have a treat. More information will come but keep this in mind if there are any Grandparents you want to invite.

Just a reminder that there is no school on Thursday or Friday this week because of Fall Break.

Looking ahead: We will be going to the Pumpkin Walk on the 25th so keep that in mind. Also, as the weather gets colder please make sure your child dresses appropriately. We will go outside as much as we can before snow comes.

It should be a fun short week!

Welcome!!

Hi Parents!

I look forward to meeting with you at SEP conferences this week. I am so sorry this has taken a month to get up and running. I will try and update this once a week with things like letter of the week or field trips, reminders, etc. So please check it often as a way of being a part of your child's class.

Well, it has been a month since we started Kindergarten and I have already grown to love each and every child in the class. They brighten my day and I am amazed already at the growth I see in them. This week after conferences we will do our first calendar in class. This is a great practice for number writing as well as getting to know the components of a calendar. Your child will be bringing them home, and I invite you to find a place to hang it. It will have important dates and things that are going on in the class.

This week is a short week, so no homework will be going home. We will be talking about the letter Hh this week and into next. In math we are continuing on with numbers we will really be practicing numbers 4 and 5. For the theme this week will be talking a little about the 5 senses as a refresher before we go into seasons.

Please remember if you ever have questions or concerns please let me know.
